October 2010 news.
Vacuum packing is fast becoming the norm in the bedding industry.
The fact that a memory foam vacuum packed mattress can be easily handled is one of the main factors in mattress packaging.
The mattress can easily be carried up stairs and made to go round hard fitting corners, unfortunately once the mattress has been opened to the air, it cannot be repackaged as we use a special vacuum packing machine to do the original packaging.
This form of packing is ideal for a high quality memory foam mattress but would damage a sprung mattress.
Vacuum packaging is also great for overseas sales as well, we have shipped many mattresses to Spain and Greece just to name a few and sometimes the client will take the mattress with them and pay the extra luggage space on a plane.
Many students buy the toppers for their placement in a live in college or university and we have had many good reports about the vacuum packaging.
There are some sites on the internet that say vacuum packing can damage the mattress, this of course is not true.
Makers of sprung beds do not like losing sales to internet memory foam sites and will spread false rumours about vacuum packing.
Over the course of 8 years we have never had a damaged mattress by the vacuum packing and over 20,000 mattresses sold and countless toppers, never any damage.
We can see vacuum packing growing with many products over the newxt few years.
